অরূপরতন আশা করি,
ঘাটে ঘাটে ঘুরব না আর ভাসিয়ে
আমার জীর্ণ তরী॥
সময় যেন হয় রে এবার ঢেউ-খাওয়া সব চুকিয়ে
দেবার,
সুধায় এবার তলিয়ে গিয়ে অমর হয়ে রব মরি॥
যে গান কানে যায় না শোনা সে গান
যথায় নিত্য বাজে
প্রাণের বীণা নিয়ে যাব সেই
অতলের সভা-মাঝে॥
চিরদিনের সুরটি বেঁধে শেষ গানে তার কান্না কেঁদে
নীরব যিনি তাঁহার পায়ে নীরব বীণা দিব ধরি॥ Transliteration

The days are long passed when my sport was to be tossed on waves. And now I am eager to die into the deathless. Into the audience hall by the fathomless abyss where swells up the music of toneless strings I shall take this harp of my life. I shall tune it to the notes of forever, and when it has sobbed out its last utterance, lay down my silent harp at the feet of the silent.
