Matir pradipkhani achhe

মাটির প্রদীপখানি আছে মাটির ঘরের কোলে,

সন্ধ্যাতারা তাকায় তারি আলো দেখবে ব’লে॥

সেই আলোটি নিমেষহত  প্রিয়ার ব্যাকুল চাওয়ার মতো,

সেই আলোটি মায়ের প্রাণের ভয়ের মতো দোলে॥

সেই আলোটি নেবে জ্বলে  শ্যামল ধরার হৃদয়তলে,

সেই আলোটি চপল হাওয়ায় ব্যথায় কাঁপে পলে পলে।

নামল সন্ধ্যাতারার বাণী  আকাশ হতে আশিস আনি,

অমরশিখা আকুল হল মর্তশিখায় উঠতে জ্ব’লে॥

Sei aaloti nimeshohato   priyar byakul chaawar mato,
Sei aaloti maayer praaner bhayer mato dole.
Sei aaloti nebe jwale shyamolo dharar hridayotale,
Sei aaloti chapolo haaway byathay knaape pale pale.
Naamlo sondhyataarar baani    aakash hote aashiso aani,
Amoroshikha aakul holo martoshikhay utthte jwole.
