Akashe tor temni achhe

আকাশে তোর তেমনি আছে ছুটি,

অলস যেন না রয় ডানা দুটি॥

ওরে পাখি, ঘন বনের তলে

বাসা তোরে ভুলিয়ে রাখে ছলে,

রাত্রি তোরে মিথ্যে করে বলে–

শিথিল কভু হবে না তার মুঠি॥

জানিস নে কি কিসের আশা চেয়ে

ঘুমের ঘোরে উঠিস গেয়ে গেয়ে।

জানিস নে কি ভোরের আঁধার-মাঝে

                    আলোর
আশা গভীর সুরে বাজে,

আলোর আশা গোপন রহে না
যে–

রুদ্ধ কুঁড়ির বাঁধন ফেলে টুটি॥

Alos jeno na roy daana duti.
Ore paakhi, ghano boner tale
Baasa tore bhuliye raakhe chhale,
Raatri tore mithye kore bale -
Shithil kobhu habe na taar mutthi.
Jaanis ne ki kiser aasha cheye
Ghumer ghore utthis geye geye.
Jaanis ne ki bhorer aandhar maajhe
Aalor aasha gobhir sure baaje,
Aalor aasha gapon rahe na je -
Ruddho knurir bnaadhon phele tuti.
