         দুঃখের  তিমিরে যদি  জ্বলে তব  মঙ্গল-আলোক

                    তবে  তাই হোক।

           মৃত্যু  যদি কাছে আনে  তোমার অমৃতময়  লোক

                    তবে  তাই হোক॥

           পূজার  প্রদীপে তব  জ্বলে যদি মম  দীপ্ত শোক

                    তবে  তাই হোক।

           অশ্রু-আঁখি-’পরে  যদি ফুটে ওঠে  তব স্নেহচোখ

                    তবে  তাই হোক॥

Dukkhero timire jodi jwale tabo mangalo-aalok
Tobe taai hok.
Mrityu jodi kaachhe aane tomar amritomoy lok
Tobe taai hok.
Pujar prodipe tabo jwale jodi mamo deepto shok
Tobe taai hok.
Oshru aankhi-pare jodi phute otthe tabo snehochokh
Tobe taai hok .

If the darkness of sorrow glows with your beneficent light,
If death brings closer your land eternal,
If my fiery sorrow burns in your lamp of worship,
If your loving eyes bloom on my tear-laden eyes,
So be it.
