        গভীর  রজনী নামিল  হৃদয়ে, আর  কোলাহল নাই।

          রহি  রহি শুধু  সুদূর  সিন্ধুর  ধ্বনি  শুনিবারে পাই॥

        সকল  বাসনা চিত্তে  এল ফিরে,   নিবিড় আঁধার  ঘনালো বাহিরে–

          প্রদীপ  একটি নিভৃত  অন্তরে  জ্বলিতেছে এক  ঠাঁই॥

          অসীম  মঙ্গলে মিলিল  মাধুরী, খেলা  হল সমাধান।

          চপল  চঞ্চল  লহরীলীলা  পারাবারে  অবসান।

        নীরব  মন্ত্রে  হৃদয়মাঝে,  শান্তি  শান্তি  শান্তি বাজে,

          অরূপকান্তি  নিরখি অন্তরে  মুদিতলোচনে  চাই॥

Rohi rohi shudhu sudur sindhur dhwoni shunibaare paai.
Sakol baasona chitte elo phire,   nibir aandhar ghanalo baahire -
Prodip ekti nibhrito antore jwalitechhe ek tthnaai.
Asim mangole mililo maadhuri khela holo somadhan.
Chapol chanchol lahorilila paarabare abosaan.
Nirob montre hridayomaajhe    shaanti shaanti shaanti baaje,
Arupokaanti nirokhi antore muditolochane chaai.

My desires that wandered all day have come back to my heart like
The murmur of the sea in the still evening air.
One lonely lamp is burning in my house in the dark.
The silence is in my blood.
I shut my eyes and see in my heart the beauty that is beyond all forms.

IN THE NIGHT when noise is tired the murmur of the sea fills the air.
The vagrant desires of the day come back to their rest round the lighted lamp.
Love's play is stilled into worship, life's stream touches the deep, and the world of forms comes to its nest in
the beauty beyond all forms.
