Aj kichutei jay na

আজ কিছুতেই যায় না মনের ভার,

দিনের আকাশ মেঘে অন্ধকার– হায় রে॥

    মনে ছিল আসবে বুঝি,
আমায় সে কি পায় নি খুঁজি–

    না-বলা তার কথাখানি জাগায় হাহাকার॥

সজল হাওয়ায় বারে বারে

সারা আকাশ ডাকে তারে।

    বাদল-দিনের
দীর্ঘশ্বাসে   জানায় আমায় ফিরবে না সে–

    বুক ভরে সে নিয়ে গেল বিফল অভিসার॥

Diner aakash meghe aandhokar -   haay re.
Mone chhilo aasbe bujhi, aamay se ki paay ni khnuji -
Na-bala taar kathakhaani jaagay haahaakar.
Sajolo haaway baare baare
Saara aakash daake taare.
Baadol-diner dirghoshwaase jaanay aamay phirbe na se -
Buk bhore se niye gelo biphalo obhisar.
