বাঁশি, তোমায় দিয়ে যাব কাহার হাতে॥

   বিদায়গাথা
আগমনী   কত যে–

        ফাল্গুনে
শ্রাবণে কত প্রভাতে রাতে॥

যে কথা রয় প্রাণের ভিতর অগোচরে

গানে গানে নিয়েছিলে চুরি করে।

   সময় যে তার হল গত

   নিশিশেষের তারার মতো,

শেষ দাও শিউলিফুলের মরণ-সাথে॥

The autumn night is finished, it is dawn.
O dear flute, whom shall I entrust for you.
You have sounded from the core –
Welcoming notes and the tunes of farewell innumerable,
In the morn and nights of PHALGUN and SHRAVANA.
Matters that are concealed in the heart
You steal them on the pretext of the melody.
No more time left for it thus,
It's over like the stars at the end of the night.
Give it a farewell as SHIULI flowers resign.
