Pran chay chokkhu na

প্রাণ চায় চক্ষু না
চায়,   মরি   একি তোর দুস্তরলজ্জা।

     সুন্দর এসে ফিরে যায়,
তবে   কার লাগি মিথ্যা এ সজ্জা॥

     মুখে নাহি নিঃসরে
ভাষ,   দহে   অন্তরে নির্বাক্ বহ্নি
।

     ওষ্ঠে কী নিষ্ঠুর
হাস,     তব
মর্মে যে ত্রন্দন তন্বী!

     মাল্য যে দংশিছে
হায়,    তব শয্যা যে কন্টকশয্যা–

মিলনসমুদ্রবেলায়   চির-  বিচ্ছেদজর্জর মজ্জা॥

Praan chaay chokkhu na chaay, mori eki tor dustarolajja.
Sundaro ese phire jaay, tobe kaar laagi miththa e sajja.
Mukhe naahi nihsare bhaas, dahe antare nirbaako bohni.
Ostthe ki nistthuro haas, tabo marme je krandano tonni !
Mallo je dongsichhe haay, tabo sajja je kantakoshajja
Milanosumudrobelay chiro -  bichchhedojarjaro majja.
